The Meeting Hub for People and AI
From behavioral psychology and software to the next chapter of Decisions
Today, we are introducing the next chapter of Decisions: the Meeting Hub for people and AI. We will connect the knowledge, decisions, and commitments created in meetings to the work that follows, through the AI assistants people already use.
Decisions grew out of my own experience serving on leadership teams, taking part in project meetings, and serving on boards. Those settings gave me a personal stake in a question that still shapes our company: how can we help people make better decisions together and turn them into action?
From the beginning, we brought behavioral psychology and software together. The conditions around a decision matter: what people know before the meeting, how they contribute during the discussion, and what they do afterward. We wanted to make good meeting practices easier to carry out in the flow of work.
I came to think of meetings as synapses in an organization's nervous system: points where people exchange context, exercise judgment, and decide what happens next. A question raised in one group may need another group's decision. The answer then has to reach the people who will act on it.
Turning meetings into results means keeping that connection intact: a useful discussion leads to an agreed decision, someone acts on it, and the progress informs what happens next.
The work begins before the meeting
A decision takes shape before anyone joins the call. The agenda determines what receives attention. The question attached to an item helps people understand what they are being asked to consider. Supporting material gives them a chance to prepare. The way we organize that preparation is part of how we organize the decision itself.
During the meeting, people discuss alternatives and reach a position. Afterward, the decision needs a clear record, an owner, and a route into the work ahead. At the next meeting, the group needs to see what has been done and what still needs its attention.
Decisions is meeting management software for Microsoft 365. Its agendas, minutes, and decision records help people prepare together and follow through. We will keep developing that foundation so good meeting practices become a natural part of everyday work.
People + AI
AI creates a new opportunity to put meeting context to work. People can ask for the background to a topic, find the recorded outcome, and use open items to prepare what comes next. The usefulness of those answers depends on the context their AI assistant can access.
That is what we mean when we say: Decisions makes Copilot smarter. Connecting Decisions to Microsoft 365 Copilot through our MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector brings the meeting context customers maintain into an AI assistant they already use. It gives them a practical place to start with questions about what was decided, who owns the next step, and what needs attention.
We will build on that experience across supported AI assistants. AI will help people use their meeting context to prepare for discussions and follow through on the decisions they make. Access will follow their existing Microsoft 365 permissions. Approval and human review will remain essential parts of the experience.
A meeting hub that enables the organization
Our vision reaches beyond the boundaries of a single meeting. A project proposal may become a steering committee decision. That decision may create a question for the leadership team. The answer may return to the project with new conditions or priorities. Each step is more useful when people can understand the context that came before it.
We will make Decisions an even stronger home for that continuity. People should be able to find the agreed position, understand who is acting on it, and bring progress or an unresolved question back to the right group. Over time, teams can build on the outcomes of earlier decisions, bringing more of the organization's experience into each new discussion.
This is the next chapter of the idea that has been with us since the beginning.
What’s new is how far AI can carry it.
