The Background

Since 2020, Stavanger Municipality has used Decisions to enhance the structure and efficiency of its meetings. The solution is now embedded in the organization and is actively used across various meeting types — from team and project meetings to formal leadership meetings.

The municipality is always on the lookout for tools that simplify and streamline the workday, and Decisions fits perfectly.

Taking the Leap with Decisions AI

In fall 2024, Stavanger Municipality began testing Decisions AI, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. 

"Once we started using Decisions AI, we were convinced. We knew we had to have the full version," says Martha Rødde, Senior Advisor at Stavanger Municipality. 

The tool was seen as intuitive and easy to adopt, which accelerated internal uptake and usage.

The Impact: A Better Meeting Culture

Rødde uses Decisions in several types of meetings. She immediately volunteered to pilot Decisions AI, and highlights how the solution transformed leadership meetings: 

"Decisions AI has helped structure our meetings. It’s easier to build a clear agenda with well-defined topics and context."

According to Rødde, the entire meeting process, from planning and execution to post-meeting tasks and follow-up, has become smoother and more structured. Participants can easily add topics before the meeting, share documents and be better prepared. Sticking to the agenda and timeframe has become significantly easier.

Decisions AI: Enhancing Meeting Efficiency

The introduction of Decisions AI has also revolutionized how meetings are conducted:

"Finally, I don’t have to sit there concentrating on taking notes. You get a completely different experience of being present in the meeting," Rødde says. "The notetaker can actually participate actively without worrying about missing anything."

Many can relate to rushing from one meeting to the next, with little time to write minutes afterwards — and when you finally get to it, important details may already be forgotten. The process also takes a lot of time and effort. With Decisions AI, the foundation is laid during the meeting to automatically generate summaries or minutes.

As Rødde explains, "You can cut down on follow-up work dramatically. It’s made my workflow much more efficient."

Decisions AI also supports those who may not feel confident writing or structuring texts, whether for agendas or minutes. It simply makes life easier for everyone. It generates structured meeting minutes with decisions and action items — ready for use or for quick edits. There’s no need to spend time on wordsmithing or structuring.

Looking Ahead

For Stavanger Municipality, Decisions has become a key enabler of meeting structure and operational efficiency. 

"Decisions helps make people’s day-to-day easier. The productivity gains are clear. Everyone sees it as a big help," summarizes Rødde. 

With continued exploration of new Decisions features, Rødde is eager to expand the usage and unlock even more value to simplify the workday. "Of course we’ll keep using Decisions. I look forward to continuing this."
